What is Vaping.

Definition: To inhale vapor from an electronic cigarette (a.k.a. an e-cigarette, e-cig, or personal vaporizer). The terminology is used because what is perceived as smoke is actually water vapor.

The idea of the electronic cigarette has been around in some shape or form since the 1930's, but its true implementation did not occur until very recently; as a matter of fact, the electronic cigarette is truly a product of the 21st century.  Often times controversial, perpetually conversational, and certainly considered a sensational apparatus by the hundreds of thousands who have benefited from its use over the past few years, e-cigs have created an international debate that bouts conventional wisdom against innovative technology.

Vaping provides the user with a low-risk alternative to the dangers of tobacco smoking. The devices are generally battery-operated and used to create an inhalable vapor; this vapor contains only trace amounts of anything that could be considered harmful.  This means that, along with the benefits to the user, there is no appreciable danger to those around the user from second-hand smoke.  Additionally, there is no harm that can be attributed to third-hand smoke because the device must be activated in order to create any vapor.  The exhaled water vapor dissipates in seconds, and leaves no lingering odor unlike tobacco smoke.

The electronic cigarette provides the user with an avenue to a smoke-free existence, providing a low-risk alternative that avoids the 4,000 to 8,000 chemicals present in combusted tobacco; with none of the 40+ carcinogens that are present in each puff of tobacco smoke.
